Our thorough timber pest inspection involves examining all accessible areas and materials that are susceptible to timber pest attack. This includes checking the structural timbers in the building's load-bearing framework, joinery, finishes, and outdoor areas such as landscaping timbers, fences, logs, and trees. We also inspect the foundation soils, walls, services, and any other visible susceptible timber materials like bridges, pergolas, and stored items containing cellulose.
In addition to a visual inspection, we may use various tests to assess the extent of the infestation. These tests include sounding with a tapper to identify hollow timber elements, probing with a probe to identify soft timber caused by decay, termites, delignification, or borers. We may also use an electronic moisture detecting meter to identify excessive moisture that creates a conducive condition for timber pests or to detect termites. Our goal is to provide our clients with a comprehensive assessment of the condition of their property's timber and any risk of pest infestation.
